Our new CMS security features
We've updated our Mango River CMS to include important security enhancements for blog spam filtering, new password requirements, and an incorrect password lockout. Please keep reading for details!
New Password Requirements
Passwords for the CMS are now more secure with tougher requirements. Character length has increased from 6 to 10 characters and must contain more of a mix of character types. Your old password will still work, but any new ones will need to meet the new requirements. If you can't remember it after a couple of tries and are not locked out, you can still use the request new password feature.
Incorrect Password Lockout
This important feature helps prevent hackers from getting into your account. Incorrect password attempts will lock the account for an amount of time. Once the time elapses, a user can attempt again, or contact our support to have their account unlocked.
Spam Filtering for Blogs
We now have basic spam filtering available with Captcha. For advanced spam filtering, you will need to obtain your own Akismet API subscription. Once this is done, you can enable advanced spam filtering by adding your API key in the website settings area, which will then apply spam filtering to all blogs on your site.
